About SALT

Stand Against Local Tyranny (SALT) is a grassroots organization resisting authoritarianism, defending civil liberties, and protecting marginalized communities in the River Valley of Arkansas. Based in Russellville, we organize community members to challenge state violence, build local solidarity, and demand justice. SALT melts ICE.

Who are we?

SALT began with 4 disgruntled county party members. We are tired of inaction, and will no longer idle. Our volunteers are your neighbors. We stand for those victimized by the two-party system. ICE is the single most dangerous domestic threat so far, and we aim to drive them out of our communities. As an organization, we facilitate the "melting" of ICE through a legal means.

What do we do?

SALT stands to oppose local tyranny. Presently, that means we deploy volunteers from our community to observe and deter ICE efforts in our area, bolster and hold protests, as well as arm the public with information. Our constitutional rights are under attack from ICE and its influence. It is our duty to stand where others may not be able. History will remember this era of our administration, just as Germany's administrative shifts. We will be remembered as those that stood up in the face of tyranny despite our physical location and funds. We don't have an excuse for inaction. This is action.
